Nikolas Cassadine (played by Adam Huss) is back on the Port Charles canvas in the ABC daytime drama “General Hospital.”

The dark prince is back to his old shenanigans. In his scenes opposite Austin Gatlin Holt (played by Roger Howarth), Nikolas is very much alive unbeknownst to his family and loved ones, including his onscreen mother Laura (Genie Francis) and his onscreen son Spencer.

Most recently, Nikolas decided to leave his hideout, where Dr. Austin has been taking care of him while being in a coma. It is evident that Nikolas is back to his old shenanigans.

Nikolas doesn’t want anyone to know that he is alive, so he Nikolas wants to fly to Europe to “tie some of his loose ends.” “I leave for Europe in a few hours,” he admitted.

While Austin told him that this cannot be done (since he would need a passport and new clothes), Nikolas noted that he has “multiple accounts and aliases.” “It’s just a simple matter of accessing them,” Nikolas admitted. “There are many glorious things in Europe, but most important, my mother… she is there trying to track me down,” he added.

Nikolas subsequently acknowledged that he has “no intention of seeing his mother” in Europe, but he just needs her to know that she is alive. Nikolas is also taken aback that Austin is so concerned over Ava (Maura West), who thinks she had killed Nikolas, when he is indeed alive.

Kudos to Adam Huss for taking over the role of Nikolas Cassadine once again in this interesting and intense storyline, and congrats to Adam for making the character his own… he is able to layer his emotions well, and he does that in a raw and convincing manner.

Hopefully, all of the acting work that Adam did over the past year as Nikolas in the ABC soap opera will result in a future Daytime Emmy nomination for “Outstanding Guest Performer in a Drama Series.”
